What if I told you I stood at the edge and did not jump, and that this was the more courageous choice? Survival is not the timid option people assume it is; it is the deliberate one, the one that requires the most nerve. People sat inside that café with their coffee, their small talk, certain that suffering announces itself. It does not. I looked exactly like them. What if the bravest thing a person can do is keep choosing the water that once felt safe, rather than the fall that would have felt final? I know exactly what was happening on that cliff, and I am still here to paint it. What if that is the whole point?
